Recently on Monday Night Raw Stephanie McMahon forced Kurt Angle to take a vacation from his duties as General Manager. In his absence, Baron Corbin has been appointed acting General Manager of Monday nights.
There has been a lot of speculation going around about why Angle has been taken off WWE TV for the time being. PWInsider has cleared that up in a recent report. They suggest Angle’s forced vacation is strictly for storyline purposes and he has not been written off of storylines long-term. There is also no heat with Angle backstage in WWE. In fact, the Hall Of Famer was backstage for Monday’s Raw in Toronto.
Mike Johnson also confirmed that Angle has been training very hard for his in-ring return. It’s unclear when that match will be taking place or who it will be against, but we’ll keep you updated. Since his return to WWE, Angle has worked several matches. He teamed up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at the Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view and defeated the team of The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane and The Bar.
Angle then teamed up with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34 and defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He also captained Team Raw at Survivor Series in a victory over SmackDown Live. In his last in-ring appearance, Angle participated in the Greatest Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia this past April.
