For those of you that missed this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, the split between Rusev and Aiden English finally occurred.
During a backstage segment, English was bad mouthing Rusev behind his back but Lana was standing nearby and heard everything. Unfortunately for Rusev, he didn’t realize English’s intentions until later in the show.
English’s distraction cost Rusev his match against Shinsuke Nakamura. That was followed up by a vicious beat-down from English.
This turn was teased for months and we reported back in July that there were plans for this team to split up. At times, the trio of Rusev, Lana and English were heelish and other times they came off as babyfaces. In this case, it looks like English will be the heel and the babyfaces will be Rusev and Lana.
