Impact Wrestling Homecoming results: Johnny Impact retains, Killer Kross powerbombs Taya Valkyrie

Impact Wrestling returned to The Asylum in Nashville, TN for their Homecoming pay-per-view.

Here is a rundown of what went down:

Rich Swann defeated Jake Crist, Trey Miguel, and “All Ego” Ethan Page in an Ultimate X Match. Swann is the new X-Division Champion. They had to stall at one point because the belt came off the cables at one point. Good match.

Jordynne Grace & Kiera Hogan defeated Su Yung & “Dark” Allie. After the match, Yung attacked Hogan and the bridesmaids came out with the coffin. Surprise… Rosemary popped out of the coffin and she took out the Undead Bridesmaids and Su Yung. She turned towards Allie but Allie ran off.

Eddie Edwards defeated Moose in a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Match. They brawled in the stands and then made their way back to the ring. There was also a crazy spot that had Moose being backdropped onto a guardrail that was set up earlier at ringside. The guardrail broke when Moose landed on it. Towards the end, Alisha Edwards ran down and it looked like she was telling Edwards to stop with the cane shots on Moose. She took the cane and nailed Moose and then handed it back to her husband. Very good brawl.

Sami Callihan defeated Willie Mack. Another good match. Callihan won after hitting the piledriver for the pin.

Eli Drake defeated Abyss in a Monsters Ball match. This match included thumbtacks and the return of Janice, the wooden board with nails in it. Drake ended up with thumbtacks on his back. This was a violent match.

LAX (Santana & Ortiz) defeated Lucha Bros! (Pentagon Jr & Fenix) to retain the Impact World Tag Team Championships. Konnan was not at ringside for this match because he’s seen LAX choke before. LAX proved him wrong this time. This was an excellent match that ended with a combination of cutters and kicks and double team move on Fenix for the pin. You should really see this match. Konnan came out and put over both teams and said LAX proved him wrong.

Taya Valkyrie defeated Tessa Blanchard to become the Impact Knockouts Champion. Blanchard kept complaining and getting physical with referee Gail Kim. In the end, Kim hit the Eat Defeat and that allowed Valkyrie to hit the Road to Valhalla finisher to become the champ.

It was announced that Impact will also be shown on Twitch beginning this Friday so you’ll be able to watch even if you don’t have the Pursuit Channel.

Johnn Impact defeated Brian Cage to retain the Impact World Championship. The match was ok and slow at times. Things picked up towards the end when Cage got in the face of a couple of “Survivor” cast members. They tried to jump the rail but the referee ran to ringside to restore order. The ref distraction prevented Cage from pinning Impact. The finish was awkward. Impact did a suplex off the ropes and appeared to pin Cage but it kind of looked like Cage was supposed to kick out. The music started playing and Impact was declared the winner.

The fans hated the finish. There were loud boos as Taya Valkyrie celebrated with her husband.

Impact was attacked on the stage are by Killer Kross. Taya tried to help her husband but Kross shoved her. Taya went to attack Kross again but he powerbombded her into a group of planted fans at ringside.
