Brock Lesnar will remain suspended by NSAC until he pays hefty fine

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is not allowed to compete in the UFC until he takes care of a fine that stems from his latest suspension.

Lesnar has competed just once inside of the cage since 2011. Mark Hunt is the last man to have fought Lesnar in the Octagon at UFC 200 in 2016. Lesnar won by unanimous decision that night which was overturned when it was revealed he failed two USADA issued drug tests before the bout.

This marked Lesnar’s return to MMA after an almost five-year retirement. The former UFC champion holds notable wins over fighters such as Shane Carwin Randy Couture and Frank Mir.

According to a recent report by MMA Weekly, Lesnar has yet given the $250,000 to NSAC for the fine. As of this writing, he remains indefinitely suspended and won’t be licensed to fight again until this fine is paid. He’s rumored to fight current UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in the first quarter of this year.

“(Lesnar) is still suspended based on his fine,” NSAC executive director Bob Bennett told MMA Weekly back in July. “He is required to pay the fine or set up a payment plan with the Attorney General’s Office (to get cleared from the suspension).”

Lesnar is set to defend his title against Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field that will air on the WWE Network.
