New movie role raises doubts about Dave Bautista’s WrestleMania status

Dave Bautista has landed another major movie role. This time he will be joining the cast of the “Dune” reboot that stars Timothee Chalamet. The news was first reported by Variety.com.

According to BleedingCool.com, the movie has been looking at a February 2019 start date for production on the film. If they stick with that timeline then it would raise questions on Batista’s status for WrestleMania.

Last Fall on the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live, WWE planted the seeds for a feud between Bautista and Triple H during the Evolution reunion. The belief is that they were setting up a match at WrestleMania, which is something Bautista has wanted for years. There were already some doubts about the match happening when Triple H suffered a pectoral injury at the Crown Jewel event in November.

According to IMDB, the film is a “feature adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel about the son of a noble family trying to avenge his father’s death while saving a spice planet that he is entrusted to protect.”

This will be a remake of the 1984 film.

Bautista has a lot on his plate this year. He will be in the Fox comedy “Stuber,” the STX action comedy “My Spy,” and Marvel’s “Avengers: End Game” where he will reprise his role as Drax.
