In one of his most high profile matches since joining WWE, Finn Balor will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Balor come out with the “Demon” gear and paint and it looks like fans will have to wait a bit longer.
In an interview with ESPN, Balor indicated that he will not be in his “Demon” gear and paint on Sunday.
Balor said, “I feel like maybe I leaned on the demon too much there in the past as a crutch, and I can assure you that the man who faces Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble will be Finn Balor, the man.”
Balor said that this match came about so fast that he hasn’t had a chance to think about it. As we’ve previously reported, this was not a last minute match because WWE knew back in December that they were going to replace Braun Strowman with Balor but perhaps Balor was not told about those plans until recently.
He added, “I don’t have any new gear, I don’t have any new looks, I don’t have any new ideas right now, but you know, we’re still six days away, so I’m sure I’ll come up with something.”
