Drew McIntyre opens up on his dream opponent at WrestleMania

Drew McIntyre took his departure from the WWE in 2014 after being put with the 3MB gimmick with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater as an opportunity in order to reinvent himself and did just that. Since making his return to the WWE, he has been positioned as one of the top stars in NXT and later on the main roster once placed on Monday Night Raw.

While doing a recent media conference call, he talked about the potential opportunity in order to win the Royal Rumble that would secure him a main event spot at WrestleMania with a World Title being on the line.

If he’s not successful in this match then he’ll need a backup plan at the biggest show of the year for the WWE. Thus, if he can’t get a crack at the world title, he wants to face John Cena at WrestleMania, which is his dream match at the show.

“The goal is win the Royal Rumble and go to WrestleMania for the Championship,” McIntyre said. “But I might consider having a match with John Cena at WrestleMania just as big, because as was mentioned earlier, he might not have too many left and I do believe he is the greatest superstar of all time. So that would be the biggest notch in my belt if that was to go through.”
