WWE sent out the following statement in regards to the reports about his departure:
“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”
Sources close to Ambrose tell us that he is not done with professional wrestling. He turned down a 5-year seven-figure offer from WWE but his issue has nothing to do with money. Ambrose has plenty of money saved and he doesn’t live an extravagant lifestyle.
His friends say that he was hoping that things would change after he returned a few months ago. He made sure that he returned in better shape than he was before triceps injury but he has not been happy with the creative direction.
Most notably, as reported by PWTorch, Ambrose is not a fan of scripted promos and hokey storylines.
