Another WWE Superstar is looking to leave the company.
Fightful is reporting that Hideo Itami asked for his release this week. The word going around backstage is that he will be granted his release but there will be a 90-day no compete clause.
Injuries derailed him for much of his time in NXT but his main roster move was to 205 Live and they haven’t done a lot with him creatively. Add in the fact that the 205 Live wrestlers make considerably less than the wrestlers on Raw and SmackDown Live.
There’s no word on if this release allows him to work for any promotions in the United States as they probably won’t want to see him sign with All Elite Wrestling.
In recent weeks, several WWE stars have asked for their release only to have it denied. Those wrestlers/teams include The Revival, Dean Ambrose, Mike and Maria Kanellis, and there are others that a rumored to be looking at their options when their contracts expire this year.
Itami said this on Twitter:
THANK YOU.
