Former WWE star becomes part-time deputy sheriff

Former WWE star Daniel Puder is now attempting to make a difference in the Mid-South as he is now part of the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department in Arkansas.

The pro wrestler turned MMA fighter went through training and was later sworn in as a part-time St. Francis County Sheriff’s deputy this week. This comes after being sponsored by a police officers’ association while competing in mixed-martial-arts.

As a result of his new role, he will patrol the streets and meet with community members. It should be noted that Puder is working as a part-time deputy without pay. Thus, he plans to come into the county for a week or two each time while working.

“It’s a different experience for me,” Puder said to WREG. “I’m blessed. It was awesome to see how they enforced the law, but also how they went out there and impacted community. Law enforcement is super powerful with building relationships, protecting the community, owners of different businesses, speaking at rotary, being a part of the chamber of commerce,” Puder said.

Pruder was under contract with the WWE from 2004-2005 after winning WWE’s reality television show, Tough Enough, in the fourth season and earning himself a contract. After his run in the WWE, he also worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
