New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has not only been in the news within the NFL world but also WWE. There’s a lot of speculation about his future with the Patriots heading into this weekend as many believe that his career is coming to an end soon due to the injuries that he has sustained.
WWE will air Halftime Heat this Sunday during the halftime of the Super Bowl that will see the New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams. In this six-man tag team match that the WWE is presenting, Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole and Tommaso Ciampa will take on Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream, and Ricochet.
Gronkowski is a big WWE fan and is friends with WWE star Mojo Rawley. In the past, Gronkowski has expressed interest in a potential pro wrestling career. Triple H opened up on this possibility of signing “Gronk” to a deal during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.
“Rob is very close with one of our stars, Mojo Rawley. We’ve met a few times, and he’s actually come down to the Performance Center and even done stuff with us at WrestleMania. He’s a great guy, an incredible player, and it’s hard not to root for him. I’ll be watching him, but that’s also because my wife is a massive Patriots fan.
Gronk has mentioned WWE before, that he loves it and said had so much fun doing it. I don’t know if it’s something he’d be seriously interested in, but that’s how the conversation started with Ronda Rousey, too. Certainly, the door is open for him at WWE.”
