ORIGINAL: For the first time in 20 years, WWE presented Halftime Heat during halftime of Super Bowl LIII. This time, the show featured stars from NXT and it aired live from the WWE Performance Center with wrestlers’ friends and family in attendance.
The match was announced during the Royal Rumble Kickoff show and it was set up after NXT TakeOver: Phoenix went off the air last Saturday night.
The best of the best were announced for this match. As announced last Sunday, Aleister Black, Ricochet and Velveteen Drewm would team up to take on Tommaso Ciampa, North American Champion Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.
Halftime Heat aired on the USA Network over 20 years ago but this year it would air across WWE’s social media platforms including the WWE Network, WWE.com, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
