Several wrestlers comment on Tye Dillinger requesting his WWE release

Several WWE Superstars took to Twitter to give thanks to Tye Dillinger. As noted last night, Dillinger posted a statement on Tuesday after SmackDown Live and said he requested to be released. WWE has not commented on his release request and it’s unknown if the company plans on granting the release to him.

Dillinger is the latest in a long list of Superstars that have not been happy with how he’s been used. He returned to action earlier this month after suffering a hand injury a few months ago but he has not appeared on WWE TV since he was cleared for in-ring action.

It is worth noting that Dillinger is good friends with Cody Rhodes. They teamed up many years ago when they were in OVW and they remain friends up until this day. For that reason, it is natural to speculate that Dillinger is looking at All Elite Wrestling as an option. Of course, several WWE stars have asked to be released and the only one to have it granted was Hideo Itami because he let the company know that he was moving back home to Japan.

Dillinger’s request to be release happened to be his 38th birthday. Girlfriend Peyton Royce wished him a happy birthday on Instagram.
