WWE won’t be announcing anymore matches for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company held creative and production meetings on Wednesday night where they made the decision to not add more matches to the card.
There had been speculation that two more matches could be added to the card. Those matches were The Kabuki Warriors vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor.
With that said, 10 matches have been announced for this show with one of them being moved to the Kickoff Show. Regarding ticket sales, the show is expected to do better than last month’s Stomping Grounds pay-per-view.
It was noted that Extreme Rules will likely be the lowest-drawing pay-per-view for the city in recent memory. This comes after the advance ticket sales were weak as the event won’t be sold out, which saw WWE offer the 2-for-1 ticket promo this past week.
The Extreme Rules pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, July 14th, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.
