Championship match announced for tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live

WWE continues to announce things that will take place on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live, which will serve as the post-Extreme Rules show for the blue brand in Worcester, MA at the DCU Center on the USA Network.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIConics will defend their titles against The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka). This comes after Asuka & Sane defeated The IIconics in a non-title match in Tokyo, Japan in late June to earn a future title shot.

Since then, The Kabuki Warriors have been challenging the champions for a title match. Just last week, Asuka and Sane approached Billie Kay and Peyton Royce on SmackDown to schedule the match. At the time, Kay faked an illness to get out of it.

WWE has already confirmed that former SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon will hold a town hall meeting on the show for the WWE Superstars to let them voice their complaints. This is to further his program with Kevin Owens.

Also, Ember Moon and a mystery partner to face Rose & Deville have been announced as well as Daniel Bryan’s career-altering announcement will take place.
