Braun Strowman on WrestleMania 35 role: It wasn’t ideally what I wanted to do but it was a good thing

Braun Strowman recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com to discuss a wide range of topics. During the interview, he reflected on his role at the most recent WrestleMania.

WWE held WrestleMania 35 this past April at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. At this show, Strowman won the 30-man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal by last eliminating Colin Jost.

In this interview, Strowman noted that Mania was great because he was able to work with Saturday Night Live’s Michael Che and Colin Jost leading up to the match and in the contest.

However, he did admit that it wasn’t the ideal thing he wanted to do at the biggest event of the year for the company.

“Mania was great, I had the opportunity to work with some pop culture guys doing a little bridging outside of the gap of what I’ve normally done with my character. “That was a good thing because it got my face out in front of more mainstream media and audiences that don’t necessarily watch wrestling.

We were just talking about this at work, and I want to say it had 257 million views in outlets outside of wrestling in a matter of a week. It wasn’t ideally what I wanted to do at WrestleMania, but it was a good thing to do at WrestleMania.”
