Kurt Angle explains why he never made a serious run at competing in UFC

WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Champion Kurt Angle took part in a Q&A session on his Facebook page and during it, he talked about a wide range of topics.

During the Q&A, Angle was asked about why he never made a serious run at competing in UFC. With Angle’s amateur wrestling background, Angle could have pursued an MMA career but never did.

According to the pro wrestling legend, the reason why he never did compete was due to history with injuries.

“I was a light heavyweight, although I could have fought in the heavyweight class as well. I never had the chance to do MMA because I knew deep down, my neck injuries were too severe to compete in the octagon. I had lost a lot of strength in my arms due to my neck injury, that would have left me vulnerable for arm bars. It only got worse the 2nd time I broke my neck in 2003.”
