WWE Hall of Famer Booker T addressed whether he will be wrestling in a cross-generation match at WWE’s next pay-per-view event.
Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival confronted Booker T during the Kickoff Show for WWE’s TLC pay-per-view.
Later that night, there was an exchange of words between Stevie Ray and Dawson on Twitter. Ultimately, this led to a challenge of a match between the two tag teams at the Royal Rumble event was issued.
Booker T took to his podcast where he talked about the rumored match and noted how he feels he has something left in the tank. The legendary pro wrestler stated that he feels that he has enough to work the Royal Rumble match.
“I’ve been getting a lot of workouts in man. I’ve been trying to get my body right. I’ve been trying to get my mojo right. I’ve been in the gym, training, working out real hard and sometimes I’ve been doing two-a-days and I’m trying to get myself in shape. Hey man, the Royal Rumble is gonna be right here in Houston, Texas on the 26th right there in Minute Maid Park and we got people calling me out. I still got something left in the tank. I just checked it a couple of weeks ago and we got about a quarter tank left, and I think I’m ready to use it, because I think I can get about… on a quarter tank, I can get about 200 miles. You understand what I’m saying? So I think I can do the Rumble as well as take that challenge as far as The Revival calling me and my brother out. One of The Revival, I think it was Scott Dawson, he went out and did a Spinaroonie just this [past] weekend actually against The [Viking] Raiders. I think they lost that match too so, if they lost that match, what do they think is gonna happen against Har… and it [Dawson’s Spinaroonie] sucked. It sucked first and foremost.”
Booker continued by noting how he’s still waiting on the call from WWE officials about working the match at the show. If WWE wants to do the match then he needs time to prepare for the match and made it clear that he doesn’t want to have a late start to that preparation.
“I’m still waiting on my invitation. Look bro, if I would’ve gotten it, I would tell you,” Booker said to his co-host. “I have not gotten my invitation yet, and the thing is, if they don’t tell me in the next week, I ain’t doing it. They’re on the clock. So I’m putting this out there right now. If they don’t let me know within the next seven days, don’t call, because I’m gonna stop training after that. I’ll stop putting in real hard work. Don’t call me at the last minute and I’m not ready. Don’t call me at the last minute because I need time to… my mind gotta be right going into this thing. I gotta be focused. I don’t wanna put in all that work for nothing.”
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be held next month in Houston, Texas, which is the hometown of Booker and Ray.
