As noted earlier, it was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Becky Lynch signed a new contract last year for $1 million per year.
The story has been picked up by several news sites and Lynch was made aware of what has been reported. According to her, she says the report is not true and her deal is coming up soon. She also noted that she hasn’t signed anything in years.
That is interesting because the word among people in WWE is that she did indeed sign a new deal sometime around last year’s WrestleMania. Pro Wrestling Sheet reported last March that she was offered a new deal and she was expected to sign the contract that would have given her a significant pay raise.
In her recent storyline that is building towards her match with Asuka at the Royal Rumble, Lynch has claimed that she has not signed a new contract and she used that leverage to get her match at the Rumble. Clearly, it would not make sense for her to confirm that she signed a deal if she is saying the opposite on WWE TV for her storyline.
WWE has big WrestleMania plans for Lynch to be in one of the main events so it would seem unlikely that WWE would keep her in top storylines if she has yet to sign a deal.
