Tessa Blanchard has been in the news for the last few days for what she’s done in the ring and allegedly outside of it as well.
It’s been well documented that after she posted a tweet about supporting women, several stars called her out on social media for bullying and making racist remarks.
Blanchard seemingly addressed the recent allegations in post-show speech after Impact Hard To Kill PPV. This was after she beat Sami Callihan to win the Impact Wrestling World Title. To see the footage, click here.
With such a win, many fans were left wondering about the move amongst the backlash including her being pulled from a scheduled date with Heavy Metal Wrestling.
Dave Meltzer shed some light on how her reputation has prevented her from getting work on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. Impact Wrestling reportedly knew what they were getting themselves into when they signed Blanchard, which is why she was easy to get signed due to her history.
Meltzer noted how everyone within the company knew about the stories regarding her. Thus, this is why Impact EVPs Don Callis and Scott D’Amore, who are in charge of the creative for Impact, were not going to be affected business-wise by her past.
Regarding WWE, Meltzer brought up how WWE didn’t sign her to a developmental deal in the past after working the Mae Young Classic because of “attitude issues.”
Blanchard has worked for WWE a few times such as in April 2016 by losing to Alexa Bliss in NXT, May of the same year when she lost to Nia Jax and then in June by losing to Carmella.
The 2017 Mae Young Classic saw her be eliminated from the tournament in the first round by Kairi Sane.
