There is another change coming to the WWE Monday Night Raw announcing team.
Back in November, the decision was made to pull Dio Madden from the announce team and it looks like Vic Joseph is also on his way out.
WrestleVotes is reporting that Tom Phillips will be replacing Tom Phillips going forward. There’s no word on why this decision was made but it likely came from Vince McMahon since the idea to have Joseph as the lead announcer from Raw came at the request of Paul Heyman. It was Heyman who asked to have Maddin on the Raw announce team as well.
The news of this change is a little surprising since the word in WWE was that Jerry “The King” Lawler was tasked to help Joseph and Lawler was being praised for the work he’s done.
There is no word yet on what Joseph’s role will be with the company but it’s possible that he will take his old role back on 205 Live. Phillips has been doing play-by-play for 205 Live since the WWE Draft in October.
