Andrade suspended for violating WWE wellness policy

WWE United States Champion Andrade (Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza) has been suspended for violating the company wellness policy.

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that he was told of his suspension on Monday morning. It’s not clear what he tested positive for. For anyone wondering, wrestlers are fined but not suspended for having marijuana in their system so that would not be the reason he was suspended.

This would explain the angle on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Following his United States Championship match with Humberto Carrillo, Andrade took a DDT on the exposed floor. The storyline reason for this was because Carrillo was frustrated at losing his chance to win the title again because of Zelina Vega causing the disqualification.

It’s clear now that this was done to write him off for 30 days. Andrade is the third WWE star to violate the company wellness policy in the last couple of months. Primo Colon and Robert Roode recently served 30-day suspensions.
