Fans can expect to see former WWE Intercontinental Champion Brodie Lee, aka. Luke Harper, in AEW soon.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Harper is slated to sign a contract with AEW that will likely see him make his television debut on the March 18th episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.
This episode is slated to be held in Rochester, NY, which is his hometown. The idea is to have Harper debut on this show because the belief is that it’s best for him to appear here for the first time as he’s guaranteed to receive a major reaction there.
He will likely go back to using the Brodie Lee name in AEW. Although Harper is advertised for WrestleCon during WrestleMania 36 Weekend in early April, he will be able to legally start with any other promotion before March 18.
Along with Sin Cara and The Ascension, their WWE non-compete clauses expire on Sunday, March 8.
Harper filed to trademark the “Brodie Lee” ring name back on November 26, which was before WWE granted his release in December.
