Triple H is high on one WWE NXT UK star, according to a new report that has surfaced online.
Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, who has done various interviews with WWE stars and has broken previous WWE news, shared the news in a recent post on Twitter. He was told by a source in WWE while in Houston over Royal Rumble weekend that Triple H “is obsessed” with Ilja Dragunov.
This news follows a report by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is a “huge proponent” of NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.
Dragunov, who signed with WWE in February 2019, lost to Finn Balor in the Worlds Collide opener from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on the WWE Network last month.
“Shawn Michaels is said to be ‘big’ on Jordan Devlin and wants him to defend the cruiserweight title across all brands [WON] To add to that, I spoke to a WWE official in Texas who said Triple H is ‘obsessed’ with NXT UK’s Ilja Dragunov. 2020 seems like a big year for these guys.”
