Today (Tues. February 4, 2020) WWE women’s tag team champions The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) hit a milestone in their impressive reign.
The pair are now the longest-reigning WWE women’s tag team in history. Only early last year were the championships introduced. Now, with a reign of 121 days, The Kabuki Warriors have beaten the previous record held by The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) of 120 days. WWE on FOX’s Twitter page made the news official.
“The Kabuki Warriors, @WWEAsuka & @KairiSaneWWE, are now your longest reigning @WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions!”
Inaugural champions, Sasha Banks and Bayley, who won the titles at Elimination Chamber 2019, only held the titles for 49 days. They dropped the straps to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35 last year. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross also held the titles, with their reign lasting 62 days.
