Standard match. Gallows and Anderson won the match with the Magic Killer.
Aside from the tag team match, the kickoff show consisted of video recaps and commentary from the panel – Charly Caruso, Scott Stanford and David Otunga. The entire panel predicted that Brock Lesnar would defeat Ricochet to retain his Universal Title.
Main Card
Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match
AJ Styles vs. Andrade vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Erick Rowan vs. R-Truth vs. Rey Mysterio
The gauntlet match kicked off the show. Two Superstars enter the match. When one Superstar is eliminated then another one enters the match. Elimination occurs when someone is pinned, counted out or submitted. The last man standing is the winner of the match. Rusev was originally scheduled for this match but was replaced by Mysterio.
The match started with Lashley vs. R-Truth. In a surprise, Truth rolled up Lashley but Lashley did not handle it well and he attacked Truth before the next entrant. Lashley laid him out with a spear. Up next in the match was Andrade. It looked bad for Truth but he hung in there and got a fluke win after they both bumped heads and he fell on Andrade and pinned him.
Up next in the match was Erick Rowan. Rowan was disqualified for using the steel steps as a weapon on Truth’s shoulder. The next competitor was AJ Styles. He forced Truth to tap out to the Calf Crusher.
Mysterio was the next and final competitor. Mysterio never made it out to the ring because he was attacked backstage by Gallows and Anderson. Styles declared himself the winner via forfeit but the referee refused to raise his hand. It was decided that if Mysterio could not make it to the ring by the 10-count then Styles would be declared the winner.
As the referee was counting, the camera backstage showed Gallows and Anderson laid out and then The Undertaker’s feet could be seen walking. The lights went out and Taker’s music played and he walked out to the ring. Michael Cole noted how Styles has been saying in recent weeks that he could beat any Superstar from any era. Styles got in his face but ended up getting chokeslammed and pinned. So, apparently Taker was Mysterio’s replacement and he won the trophy.
The New Day cut a backstage promo ahead of their match.
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The New Day vs. John Morrison and The Miz
New champions crowned after Kingston took a chair to the ribs from Morrison when the referee wasn’t looking and that allowed Miz to roll him up for the pin.
Backstage promo with Seth Rollins and Murphy.
Humberto Carrillo vs. Angel Garza
They didn’t give a 5-star classic but it was a solid match meant as a placeholder to further their feud. Carrillo was able to sneak in another victory by countering a sunset flip into a roll-up.
Backstage interview with Bayley.
WWE Raw Tag Team Championship
Seth Rollins and Murphy vs. The Street Profits
The champions retained the title with some shenanigans as the referee was distracted by Murphy and Rollins got in a stomp on the ring apron. Murphy got the win over Dawkins to retain the titles for his team.
They aired a WrestleMania commercial and they showed a recap of some of the matches that have already taken place.
Mansoor vs. Dolph Ziggler
Mansoor is from Riyadh so he was clearly the overwhelming favorite for the fans attending the show. They gave him fireworks for his entrance. Before the match got started, Roode shoved Mansoor and then got shoved back. Roode tried to attack but Mansoor dropkicked him and the referee told Roode that he needed to leave the ringside area. As expected, Mansoor won the match. He did it by hitting a moonsault and pinning him and Michael Cole reacted like Mansoor beat Hulk Hogan. They called it a “miracle win” for Mansoor. After the match, he cut a promo and said the fans picked him up and gave him hope.
WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar vs. Ricochet
This was a very quick match. Ricochet tried to attack early but Lesnar hit some hard forearms and then slammed him and then hit a couple of German suplexes and the F5. The match lasted about a minute.
Steel Cage Match
Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin
Several minutes into the match, Corbin was able to get the key from Reigns to unlock the chain that was keeping the door shut. Late in the match, they exchanged punched on top of the cage and Reigns almost escaped but Corbin dragged him back into the ring. Reigns fought back and took out Corbin with the Superman punch with the chain wrapped around his fist. Reigns pinned Corbin to win the match.
WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Bayley vs. Naomi
The women were covered up from the neck down as was the case for the last show in Saudi Arabia. There were a few “this is awesome” chants during the match so fans were into the match. Bayley won after she was able to trap Naomi’s leg in the back of her shirt before driving her head into the mat. Bayley pinned her to retain the title.
WWE Universal Championship
Goldberg vs. Bray Wyatt
The match started with a face-off and Goldberg speared him out of nowhere but The Fiend kicked out of the pin attempt. Wyatt locked in the mandible claw but Goldberg powered out of it and then he hit another spear. Goldberg hit a third spear and then followed up with a fourth spear. He went for the pin but Wyatt kicked out. Wyatt sat up and locked in the mandible claw but Goldberg headbutted his way out of it. Goldberg hit the jackhammer and then pinned Wyatt to win the title. Wyatt got up as Goldberg was celebrating but the lights went out and Wyatt disappeared. The match was short…about 3 minutes or so.
