Bray Wyatt on why he challenged John Cena to a match at WrestleMania 36

WWE confirmed who John Cena would be facing at WrestleMania 36 and it’s Bray Wyatt.

The company did so in the final segment of Friday’s episode of SmackDown after Cena teased in a promo that he wouldn’t be part of this year’s show.

As Cena walked up the ramp and to the stage, Wyatt, dressed as The Fiend, came out and challenged Cena to a match at WrestleMania. WWE later officially announced the contest.

This is a rematch from WrestleMania 30 in 2014 where Cena beat Wyatt in a singles match.

After the show, Wyatt responded to a fan on Twitter who was questioning why Wyatt would care about facing Cena at WrestleMania.

The fan wrote, “Why does this monster, the fiend, care if their match is at mania or in a sewer? Wouldn’t he just be ruthlessly aggressing Cena anywhere. Surely, the fiend doesn’t care about a WrestleMania moment.”

Wyatt’s response read like, “Because it has to be where it all began. It’s a circle.”
