Reason why Lance Archer did not appear on AEW Dynamite

Some news and notes from coming out of Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite in Broomfield, CO at the 1stBank Center on TNT have surfaced.

All Elite Wrestling had been promoting the debut of Lance Archer for this show but he didn’t make an appearance. This left fans wondering what was the reason that kept him from doing what was advertised.

Dave Meltzer noted on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that it all came down to a creative change in the last week that resulted in the non-appearance. Meltzer also noted that he didn’t know whether the delay was due to Jake Roberts’ debut and Archer possibly being his mystery client.

As of this writing, there’s still no word yet on who will be revealed as Roberts’ client.

Also, Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and The Young Bucks were kept off the show. This comes after the wild title match that saw Omega and Page successfully retain the Tag Team Titles over The Young Bucks at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL from the Sears Center.

Meltzer brought up how Omega has a broken pinkie that will not require surgery, but he does need a cast.

He also expects Omega to work with the cast, but he’s not sure when Omega will return to in-ring action. The longtime reporter noted that he didn’t think Omega was in attendance at the show.

Regarding Nick Jackson, he wasn’t at the show due to him being at home as he and his wife await the birth of their third child.

None of the four participants were scheduled to work matches on Wednesday.
