Ryback comments on Coronavirus concerns heading into WrestleMania 36

Former WWE star Ryback gave his take on the Coronavirus concerns heading into WrestleMania 36.

The concerns have hit hard in Japan as New Japan Pro Wrestling canceled events for the majority of this month. Also, the Japanese government has canceled other sporting events due to the concerns. Portions of Italy have been on lockdown as well.

Ryback sounded off on whether he thinks the virus will lead to the cancelation of the event while talking with Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.

“From a wrestler’s standpoint, [WrestleMania] is in Tampa and they’re gonna bring people from all over the world to this location. If I’m a wrestler – and I’m speaking from the talent as I’ve talked to a couple of people – the talent believe that WrestleMania is possibly going to get cancelled. This is a business and it will impact a lot of things but you have to protect the wrestlers at all costs.”

Ryback noted how he thinks there should be no fan interaction between Superstars and fans at any Axxess events. He also thinks fans should be kept away from talent at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

“I have a feeling [WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon] is gonna try to go through with it no matter what. He’s gonna have to be forced to say ‘No’ if it does happen.”

WWE holds the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium.

We noted earlier on the site that Tampa officials will meet on Thursday to discuss canceling or postponing major events due to the coronavirus outbreak. For more on that, click here.
