On this week’s episode of Grilling JR, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross cover the Fully Loaded 2000 show. They talked about the show and all of the news that was going on around that time in the wrestling business.
Fully Loaded 2000 included a Mixed Tag Team Match featuring The Hardy Boyz and Lita taking on T & A (Albert, Test and Trish Stratus). Intergender matches were common in the wrestling business around that time but Ross made it clear why he was not a fan of them.
Ross said, “I never ever was comfortable with intergender matches. Tessa Blanchard did it in Impact. Quite frankly, Impact is not a mainline broadcast. They work their ass off but they don’t have the exposure or the name identity that I’m sure they would like. But, they’re not going to get any better by having intergender matches. To me, it’s too much of a compromise. It’s too far of a stretch for my personal taste. Should they not be held at all? I would never book an intergender match. I certainly have called plenty of them because that was my job. If I had the pencil today, there is no F’N way I would book intergender matches because I don’t think they are logical.”
Ross also gave his thoughts on The Rock vs. Chris Benoit for the WWF Championship, Triple H vs. Chris Jericho in a Last Man Standing Match, The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle, Val Venis vs. Rikishi and all of the other matches that were booked for the Fully Loaded 2000 show.
