A new champion was crowned this week on Monday Night Raw.
Sasha Banks won the WWE Raw Women’s Championship from Asuka but she didn’t win the matcn in the traditional way.
Per the stipulations, the title could change hands on a disqualification or count out. Asuka was counted out when she ran to the back to help her best friend Kairi Sane, who was being brutally attacked by Bayley.
This looks to have been a late change when the match was taped last week because Asuka was originally in the plans to walk into SummerSlam as champion.
WWE has been teasing a split between Bayley and Banks in recent weeks but there were no signs of trouble this week and it seems like they may be delaying Banks vs. Bayley until sometime after SummerSlam.
