AEW star is leaving social media

Joey Janela has announced that he will no longer be active on social media.

Since the introduction of social media, whether that’s Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, those with large followings have received negative comments from people.

The AEW took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that he has decided to give access to his social media platforms to his management team to control as a way to avoid toxicity.

Apparently, his decision comes after he got backlash for what was a perceived botch on the most recent episode of AEW Dark. He noted that he has never botched in his career.

What was surprising about his statement was the fact that at one point, he had considered retiring from wrestling because of the negativity from people on the platforms.

You can read his statement here:

“Hey, I’ve decided to give up social media. I never botched in my career, & I didn’t on AEW Dark. At one point these horrible humans on social media had me at the point of retirement but I’ve retracted that Decision. I will be handing my passwords to a management team,Thanks JJ.”
