As it was noted earlier this week, the dates for the WWE Draft have changed several times.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer that the current plan is to hold the Draft in October. As has been the case in the past, there would be two dates with one Draft show for Raw and another for SmackDown.
At first, the plan was for the Draft to take happen in October but there is a realization that change is needed because of declining ratings so the Draft was moved to August.
It was brought up that moving the Draft to August would mess up plans for SummerSlam. As late as last week, the plan was to do the Draft in late August after SummerSlam but there are plans to do a second pay-per-view a week after SummerSlam so then it was moved to September.
As of today, the plan is for the Draft to happen in October but, like most things in WWE, that could change. If the Raw Underground concept works and ratings begin to go up then WWE won’t have as much pressure to do a Draft so soon.
Draft shows typically do better in the ratings for that week.
