Upcoming WWE shows to have more bells and whistles at Amway Center

The Amway Center in Orlando, Florida is expected to host this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event as well as Raw and SmackDown TV events going forward.

WWE will resume airing live episodes again starting with the August 21st SmackDown show. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE has been airing its weekly television shows from Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been talk within WWE that the darkness and size of the Performance Center is one of the things that has hurt the ratings.

With that belief and Vince McMahon wanting out of the training facility, WWE made the decision to move to this larger venue.

Meltzer wrote, “The plan is for a bigger production crew, and more bells and whistles as far as that goes than they can do at the Performance Center.”

It’s believed that WWE made the call to go to a bigger arena is a way to turn ratings around, which have been dropping at a scary rate for the last few months.

WWE production trucks arrived at the arena on Friday.
