Johnny Gargano comments on scary bump during NXT match

Johnny Gargano gave his first public comments about the scary bump that he took during Wednesday’s episode of NXT.

The opener of this show saw Gargano take on Ridge Holland to determine who would advance to the Five-Way North American Championship Ladder Match at TakeOver: XXX.

The spot happened when Holland went for a powerslam, but it was botched and Gargano landed on his head. When WWE taped this match, it was reported that it was stopped for a few minutes. WWE left the bump in the final version of the contest that aired on the USA Network, but the pause in the action was edited out.

Gargano was checked on again by trainers when he got backstage and said to be okay. In fact, he got involved in the main event match between Finn Balor and The Velveteen Dream.

The former NXT Champion took to his Twitter account where he commented on the incident by writing the following:

“All Heart” isn’t just a catchphrase. You only lose when you quit and I got a Ladder match to win in 3 days. #NXTTakeOver.”

Gargano will compete against The Velveteen Dream, Cameron Grimes, Damien Priest, and Bronson Reed at TakeOver to crown a new North American Champion.
