Backstage news on morale in WWE heading into ThunderDome shows

On Tuesday, we noted that Vince McMahon has been in a good mood since the deal was made to move to move to Orlando’s Amway Center for WWE’s ThunderDome shows.

WrestleVotes reported today that spirits are high as they’ve been in some time and many of the backstage agents who were sent home are returning. The intrigue of the ThunderDome setup is said to have the staff excited and the energy from the performers is expected to be off the charts.

As noted on Tuesday, the feeling in WWE is that the worst is over now that they have moved away from the Performance Center. Vince McMahon believes that ratings will start to increase but it may take a few weeks to get back all of the fans that tuned out during the pandemic era.

The source said, “Vince thinks it might take a few weeks to get back the fans that we lost but when they realize we are out of the Performance Center and they see how cool the shows look, they will be back. He thinks the numbers can get back to where they were in February and early March.”

Another source told WrestlingNews.co that McMahon seemed more upbeat at the recent creative meeting and there is speculation among people in the company that names like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns will be back soon.

The bigger venue will make it easier to spread everyone out backstage and there is more circulation that will greatly reduce the chances of an outbreak.

Going forward, WWE Raw and SmackDown shows will air live from the ThunderDome at least until late October. NXT will continue running shows at Full Sail University.
