WWE hasn’t announced much for tonight’s episode of Raw aside from a singles match between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins.
Pwinsider.com reports that the current plans for the show will revolve around determining the next challenger for the WWE Title, currently held by Drew McIntyre.
This challenger will battle McIntyre for the title at the upcoming Clash of Champions pay-per-view event on September 27th.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on who that challenger will be. Obviously, McIntyre has been in a program with Randy Orton. The WWE Champion successfully retained the title over Orton with a backslide at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
The following night on Raw, Orton laid out McIntyre with a punt kick and WWE created an injury storyline out of it. There’s speculation that WWE could save the rematch between Orton and McIntyre for a later date and insert Keith Lee, who just beat Orton in a singles match at Payback, as McIntyre’s next challenger.
WWE will likely announce its plans to crown the new #1 contender later this afternoon before Raw goes live on the USA Network.
