Rey Mysterio may return to in-ring action sooner than originally expected

Although Rey Mysterio is currently out of action with an injury, that hasn’t kept him off television.

He has been on Monday Night Raw for the past two weeks even though he suffered a partially torn triceps during a tag team at Payback. The original belief was that it was a full tear, which would’ve kept him on the sidelines for up to 8 months.

Last week, it was reported that he would be out of action for two months if not less. Because it’s not a full tear, he won’t have to get surgery. Thus, he’s doing rehab to repair the injury.

Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that he was told last week that Mysterio now has a return time frame of 4-6 weeks, which would be slightly earlier than expected.

“It’s supposed to be..the last that I heard which would be last Wednesday or Thursday,  they’re looking 4-6 weeks for Rey, it’s a partial tear, yeah.”

WWE has kept the former WWE Champion on television to continue the storyline with him and his son, Dominik, feuding with Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy.
