This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with a backstage segment with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. Reigns had the contract in his hand for his match with Adam Pearce at the Royal Rumble but Heyman said that he would make changes to the contract because it was the same cookie cutter contract from WWE lawyers.
After the backstage segment, Jey Uso declared that he would win the Royal Rumble and then he would take out whoever is the WWE Champion on the Raw brand. This led into a confrontation between Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura, who apparently is now a babyface. They piped in cheers for Nakamura to confirm that he is now a babyface.
This segment led into a match between Nakamura and Uso. For what it’s worth, Daniel Bryan has been pushing for WWE to do more with Nakamura so this could be the start of a singles push for him.
