WWE has big plans for Aleister Black’s return to SmackDown

It has been a few months since Aleister Black has been seen on WWE TV and there was some concern from fans about his status after his wife, Zelina Vega, was released by the company. However, according to PWInsider, there are big plans in store for him.

PWInsider reports that he was purposely pulled from television so he could have a big “dramatic debut” on SmackDown. It’s unclear why that has not happened yet and it’s possible that management chose to wait a little longer for the dust to settle on his wife’s release.

Per PWInsider’s Mike Johnson: “I was told he was purposely pulled from television so he comeback and have a big dramatic debut for SmackDown, and it just hasn’t happened. My feeling is maybe the stuff with his wife Zelina, might have led to them saying ‘hey, let’s wait a bit, let’s the waters kind of calm”

Black was drafted to SmackDown last October and then disappeared just a few weeks later after losing matches to Kevin Owens.

It’s interesting that there are plans for him now since it was Paul Heyman who had ideas to push him as a top star on Raw a year ago. That push stalled when Heyman was removed as the Executive Director of the brand.

h/t to Heel By Nature for the quote.
