WWE Raw star returns from injury at Superstar Spectacle taping

WWE taped the Superstar Spectacle special on Friday morning from St. Petersburg, Florida at Tropicana Field.

Jinder Mahal made his return from injury by working the main event as he teamed up with The Bollywood Boyz to face Drew McIntyre and Indus Sher. The match saw McIntyre and Indus Sher go over when the babyfaces hit their finishers to Mahal.

On Friday ahead of the taping, Mahal noted that he was ready to return.

Last summer, the former WWE Champion underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center to fix issues with his knee. WWE was forced to scrap a planned feud between Mahal and McIntyre. This match had been talked about quite a bit by both guys at the time due to their history.

Mahal had just returned to in-ring action back on the April 27th episode of Raw after being out of action for the majority of 2019 and early 2020 due to knee surgery.

There’s no word yet on when Mahal will return on Monday Night Raw. Check out the spoilers from the taping here.
