CM Punk comments on anniversary of his WWE exit

CM Punk has been gone from WWE for 7 years now and decided to take to social media to remember it.

Punk’s departure from WWE in 2014 went bad as the company gave him his termination papers on his wedding day and was sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann. His last match was at the 2014 Royal Rumble on January 26th and the following day, January 27th, he went to the Raw TV event where he had a meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H. It ended with him telling them he wasn’t happy and wanted to go home.

The former WWE Champion wrote the following on Twitter:

Punk made comments about the WWE doctor on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast from November of 2014, which led to a lawsuit because Punk alleged that Amann kept giving him Z-pacs for what turned out to be a bad case of staph infection on his lower back.

Punk detailed his departure from WWE during this podcast as well. He was initially under the impression that he would return to WWE after WrestleMania 30, but instead, learned via a WWE earnings call that he was on a sabbatical and eventually given his termination papers.

The former WWE star has stated in the past that he’s willing to listen to any offer from any promotion as long as they have enough money to pay him and a great idea.
