Impact Wrestling will look into locking up one of its biggest stars to a new deal.
Fightful Select reports that Moose will become a free agent this summer.
Some fans picked up on how Don Callis mentioned during the broadcast of the Hard To Kill pay-per-view event earlier this month that Moose was signed to a two-year contract in an effort to kayfabe him to take it easy on AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega. The two stars were on opposite teams for a six-man tag team match that took place in the headliner.
Back in 2019, it was announced he had signed a multi-year deal. Most took this as him re-signing for another two years. That’s not the case, but rather simply a storyline.
Per the report, his contract is slated to expire in June, which means he can test out the market to see if he gets offers from other promotions such as ROH, AEW, and WWE.
The belief for months is there will be several wrestlers facing the decision to sign new deals with Impact or test out the market through the first half of 2021. Moose worked for ROH from 2014-2016 before joining Impact.
