WWE only has one WrestleMania 37 match finalized

WrestleMania 37 is quickly approaching as we are on the road to the biggest event of the year for WWE.

However, WWE has just one match locked in for the event. Dave Meltzer reported the news in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Per the report, that match involves WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. However, there’s still no word yet on his opponent, but it’s not Shinsuke Nakamura.

It was said by some people within WWE who have been with the company for a long period of time that there’s never been a situation where the company has so little finalized for the show or even teased on television.

Edge’s promo about declaring for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match as a way to pursue the WWE Title again “definitely sounded like Randy Orton vs. Edge has been dropped and Edge’s story is now chasing the title.”

Orton vs. Edge had been planned for WrestleMania 37 since last year. This would indicate now the plans are for Edge challenging Reigns for the Universal Title or Edge vs. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

If WWE does actually drop plans for Orton vs. Edge at Mania then it could leave the door open for Orton to take on Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House Match, which was originally scheduled for Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but still not announced.

WWE has confirmed that WrestleMania will take place over the course of two nights – Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 – from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
