Investment firm increases their ownership of WWE

Blackrock Inc, an investment firm, has decided to increase its ownership of WWE.

On February 1st, Blackrock Inc filed SEC documentation disclosing ownership of 4,200,300 Class A shares of WWE. Their previous filing back on February 6, 2020, noted that they had 4,165,401 shares.

Thus, they increased their ownership by 0.84, which now represents 9% ownership of the company.

BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager as they are a multinational investment management corporation based in New York City and founded in 1988. They have $8.5 trillion in assets under management as of January 2021.

WWE will report its fourth quarter and full year 2020 results on Thursday, February 4, 2021 after the close of the market. Chairman & CEO, Vince McMahon, President & Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Kahn, Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon, and Chief Financial Officer, Kristina Salen, will host a conference call on this date.

This will be an interesting call as the biggest talking point will be WWE’s new deal with NBCU that will see the WWE Network streaming rights in the United States move to Peacock starting in March.
