WWE has talked about having NXT Title defended at WrestleMania 37

The WWE NXT Title could be on the line at WrestleMania 37.

WrestleVotes reported today that WWE officials have talked about the title being defended on one of the nights of the show. However, those talks have not been finalized and there’s no word yet on the competitors in the match.

Finn Balor is the current NXT Champion and he makes his next title defense against Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day next Sunday. It’s been reported based on what’s been done on television that Karrion Kross will likely challenge the winner of this match at a later date.

There’s been no word yet on whether there will be a TakeOver special held on the same weekend as WrestleMania 37 as just like last year, the biggest event of the year for the company will be held on two nights – Saturday, April 10th. and Sunday, April 11th. Last year, there wasn’t a TakeOver show that weekend, but the NXT Women’s Title was defended on the WrestleMania 36 card.

“Full disclosure, I don’t know where discussions stand at this point… However, I do know that several people, including some high up personnel, have talked about having  Finn Balor & the NXT Championship on the WrestleMania card this year. Especially considering it’s 2 nights.”

So far, WWE has only finalized one match for WrestleMania 37, which is Edge’s opponent.
