PWInsider is reporting that employees and staffers were told on Friday that the company will not be giving promotions or raises going forward.
The company reportedly made these decisions over the last few weeks due to the earnings from the last quarter. What is interesting is that WWE is making more money than ever after Peacock secured the rights for WWE Network programming. The five-year deal is reportedly worth $1 billion.
Employees are still reportedly able to get bonuses but there will be no promotions or raises for the foreseeable future. There is no word how long this rule will remain in place. The news was said to have been delivered by Supervisors and managers of different departments.
WrestleVotes reported earlier that there was a lot of unhappiness backstage at SmackDown among the talent and the road crew and some were said to be angry. It’s not clear if this is related to the edict laid out earlier today to the company employees.
Just got a text from a source in St. Pete… the unhappiness and straight up anger backstage is at an all time high level. Everyone from the boys to the road crew are pissed off. Not a good look.
