The door between Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling has been kicked open.
At the end of Impact’s “No Surrender” show, a video was shown to announce to fans that New Japan Pro Wrestling stars Juice Robinson and David Finlay are on their way to Impact.
PWInsider reports that this working relationship was in the works before AEW’s collaboration with New Japan and there were plans for Finlay and Robinson to debut at the last set of tapings but there was a scheduling issue so those plans were delayed.
The Impact-NJPW relationship has been in the works for several months. Obviously, Harold Meij’s exit from New Japan open the doors for talks to begin but The Good Brothers being signed to Impact was also a big help since NJPW has been interested in them.
Impact has been trying to repair their relationship with New Japan for several years and it looks like they have achieved their goal. Finlay and Robinson will appear on Impact’s show this Tuesday night on AXS TV.
