In the last two weeks, WWE has promoted two new programs to air on the WWE Network and the network section of Peacock.
The delay of WWE Icons: Lex Luger was blamed for not having a strong enough lead-in while there was no reason given for the latest episode of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions featuring Kevin Nash not airing.
Pwinsider.com reports the reason for these programs being delayed is a result of changes in strategy and rollout for original content on the streaming service. This comes at a time where “it adjusts to its new place in the WWE hierarchy under the TV department.”
The report noted part of the issue was that with changes made internally to divisions that were folded into each other, there was a previously set schedule that was set to roll out, but due to there being so many people in new positions, there have been some growing pains as they learn the ropes.
It was said by one source that things are much better off than the recent yanked shows would make it appear from the outside. They also think the reshuffling of existing plans will end up being a long-term positive/
WWE is expected to announce a new date for the Broken Skull Sessions episode in the near future. There’s still no word yet when the Luger documentary will air. Finally, the planned WWE Untold: The Nexus documentary is currently shelved.
