Ring of Honor held its Best in the World pay-per-view in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday that featured several title changes and the debut of former WWE star Chelsea Green.
Former WWE NXT star Chris Hero was backstage at the show, according to Post Wrestling. The belief is he worked as an agent for the show. The media outlet reached out to ROH COO Joe Koff regarding Hero’s presence at the show, who issued the following statement:
“Chris was there and is always home at Ring of Honor.”
It’s unclear what Hero’s status with ROH will be following Best in the World. ROH will hold TV tapings this week so it will be interesting to see if he’ll also be working in this role during the tapings.
Hero made a name for himself on the independent wrestling scene and in ROH as he was part of The Kings of Wrestling tag team with Claudio Castagnoli, better known as WWE star Cesaro. They won the ROH Tag Team Titles twice.
Ohno had his first stint with WWE from 2011-2013 and then returned in 2016 for his second run where he was used in NXT in addition to working the NXT UK brand prior to the coronavirus outbreak. He was released in April 2020 due to budget cuts.
